03. Why it works so well for multi-train journeys

The more you hop on and off, the more useful the pass becomes.

If your journey involves several stages, intermediate stops along the way and multiple regional trains over consecutive days, Italia in Tour is ideal: it makes the trip simpler and gives you much more freedom to change your plans. It can also be good value for a straightforward return journey, especially when the total distance is more than about 400 km*.

*The average regional rail fare in Italy is around €0.10 per km.

“The train is not just
a way to get there.

It is how
you discover Italy.”

More freedom to change your plans

Take a later train, stay somewhere longer or change your timing without having to rethink the whole journey.

A simpler way to travel

Fewer tickets to manage and more freedom to change your mind during the day.

Perfect for exploring

Get off somewhere along the line, take a break, then continue on another Regionale when you are ready to move on.

04. Italia in Tour and LungoCosta 0

LungoCosta was not designed around the pass. But the pass seems almost made for a journey like LungoCosta.

Our 10-day itinerary from Ventimiglia to Trieste uses many regional trains, includes intermediate stops and naturally falls into two consecutive five-day blocks.
The result is simple: two 5-day passes cover almost all of the regional travel.
Only two sections require separate tickets: InterCity 564 and Apulia Express 4450.
