TERMS OF USE

LungoCosta.it Terms of Use
Version 1.0 — 28 September 2026

1. Website owner and scope

LungoCosta.it is an independent editorial project operated by:

Andrea Moretti
Email: info@lungocosta.it

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of LungoCosta.it and the content published on the Website.

2. What LungoCosta is

LungoCosta is an independent editorial and informational project about travelling in Italy, with a particular focus on rail travel, regional trains and journeys that can be made without a car.

The Website publishes, among other things, itineraries, guides, practical information, photographs, maps, railway information, travel experiences and other editorial content.

LungoCosta is not a travel agency, tour operator, rail carrier, railway infrastructure manager, ticket intermediary or booking service.

3. Access to the Website

Access to and consultation of the content published on the Website is free of charge.

LungoCosta may also feature publications by the author that are available for purchase through third-party platforms such as Amazon.

Any such purchase takes place on the third party’s platform and not directly through LungoCosta.it.

4. Informational nature of the content

LungoCosta content is provided for editorial and informational purposes.

Depending on the subject matter, it is produced using direct experience, research, official and public sources and other sources considered relevant at the time of writing.

The content does not constitute an offer of transport services and is not a substitute for official information provided by railway operators, infrastructure managers, public authorities or other parties responsible for the services described.

5. Itineraries

Itineraries published by LungoCosta are editorial travel proposals.

Travellers are free to follow them in full, adapt them, interrupt them or simply use them as a starting point for planning their own journey independently.

The inclusion of a particular route, destination, train service or connection in an itinerary does not guarantee that it will still be available when the journey is actually made.

6. Timetables, fares and operational information

Train times, train numbers, journey times, stops, changes, services, fares, passes, promotions, estimated costs and other operational information published by LungoCosta relate to the information available and, where indicated, to the period specified in the relevant content.

They may subsequently be changed by operators or other responsible parties, including without LungoCosta being immediately aware of the change.

Published information does not constitute an offer or guarantee that a particular service, fare or connection will be available.

7. Check before you travel

Before purchasing a ticket and before travelling, travellers should check the information relevant to their journey through the official channels of the operator concerned.

Depending on the journey, this may include checking:

  • current timetables and actual train operation;
  • stops and routes;
  • cancellations and service alterations;
  • strikes;
  • planned engineering works;
  • replacement transport;
  • fares and availability;
  • terms applying to offers and rail passes;
  • any reservation requirements;
  • validity and use of tickets;
  • conditions of carriage.

8. Delays, cancellations and service changes

Transport services described on LungoCosta are operated by third parties over whom LungoCosta has no control.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, LungoCosta is not responsible for consequences arising from delays, cancellations, service withdrawals, changes to routes or stops, strikes, railway works, replacement transport, platform changes, lack of available seats or services, fare changes, withdrawal or modification of offers, weather conditions or other circumstances relating to the journey that are outside LungoCosta’s control.

9. Traveller responsibility

Planning and undertaking a journey remain the responsibility of the traveller.

Users are responsible for determining whether a proposed itinerary is suitable for their own circumstances and for checking up-to-date operational information before making travel decisions.

10. Independence from railway operators

LungoCosta is an independent project.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, it is not affiliated with, sponsored by, approved by, authorised by or officially connected with Trenitalia S.p.A., Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane S.p.A., Rete Ferroviaria Italiana S.p.A., or any other railway operator, infrastructure manager, public authority, company or organisation mentioned on the Website.

Third-party trade marks, names and other distinctive signs remain the property of their respective owners and are used, where necessary, for descriptive, informational or editorial purposes.

11. LungoCosta publications

LungoCosta may produce its own guides, books and other publications.

Some publications may be made available free of charge through the Website, while others may be available for purchase through third-party platforms.

Unless otherwise stated, information contained in a publication reflects the position as of the edition date or latest update shown.

The publication or update date does not guarantee that information subject to change has remained unchanged since that date.

12. Purchases through Amazon or other platforms

LungoCosta may feature its own publications that are available for purchase through Amazon or other third-party platforms.

Any purchase is concluded on the third-party platform and not on LungoCosta.it.

LungoCosta.it does not directly handle payment, printing, shipping, delivery, returns or refunds relating to such purchases.

Prices, availability and terms applying to a purchase are those displayed by the relevant platform at the time the order is placed.

The availability of a LungoCosta publication on Amazon does not imply sponsorship, endorsement or affiliation of LungoCosta by Amazon.

Unless expressly stated otherwise alongside the relevant link, links to publications on the Website are not affiliate links.

13. Free guide

LungoCosta may make guides and other editorial materials available free of charge.

The free guide can be downloaded from the Website without registration and without providing an email address.

Users may optionally provide their email address to receive the guide as an attachment to an email.

Providing an email address for this purpose does not automatically subscribe the user to the newsletter.

14. Newsletter

Subscription to the LungoCosta newsletter is a separate and optional choice.

Subscription requires the user to select a separate, unticked consent box.

Newsletter subscription is not required in order to download the guide, receive it by email or access other Website content.

The newsletter may contain updates about LungoCosta, new content, itineraries, guides and information about rail travel, as well as information about and links to LungoCosta publications that may be available through third-party platforms.

Users may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe facility provided in the communications.

The processing of personal data in connection with the newsletter is described in the Privacy Policy.

15. Links to third-party websites and services

LungoCosta may contain links to websites, platforms and services operated by third parties.

Such links may be provided for convenience, further information, editorial reference or to allow users to access products or services available elsewhere.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, the presence of a link does not imply endorsement, partnership, sponsorship or affiliation.

LungoCosta does not control the content, availability, security, contractual terms, privacy practices or operation of external services.

Users should review the applicable terms and privacy information provided by the relevant third party.

16. Intellectual property and copyright

Unless otherwise stated, original texts, photographs, illustrations, graphic elements, original cartographic work and other creative content published on LungoCosta are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

Where the relevant legal requirements are met, protection may also extend to the specific selection, organisation and editorial presentation of the content.

Protected content may not be substantially reproduced, published, distributed or otherwise used outside the uses permitted by law without permission from the relevant rights holder.

Links to publicly accessible pages of the Website may be freely shared.

Quotations and other uses permitted by applicable law remain unaffected.

17. Itineraries, places and routes

Descriptions of itineraries, destinations, railway routes and geographical sequences do not give LungoCosta exclusive rights over the places concerned, railway infrastructure or the idea of travelling along a particular itinerary.

Where the relevant requirements for protection are met, protection applies to the specific creative and editorial expression through which those elements are selected, described, photographed, represented or organised by LungoCosta.

18. Photographs and illustrations

Unless otherwise stated, original photographs and illustrations published on LungoCosta are subject to the protection provided by applicable law.

Images originating from third parties remain subject to the rights, licences and conditions of their respective owners.

19. Maps, data and third-party material

The Website may use geographical, railway, cartographic or other data and material obtained from external sources in accordance with the applicable terms and licences.

Rights in the original data or material remain with their respective owners.

Any processing or adaptation carried out by LungoCosta does not create exclusive rights in underlying third-party data.

20. Accuracy and updates

LungoCosta seeks to keep its content accurate, verified and useful.

However, the nature of railway services, fares, timetables and other travel information means that information that was correct when published may subsequently become outdated.

A publication or last-updated date indicates when the content was reviewed; it does not guarantee that every item of information has remained unchanged.

Errors or information that may no longer be current can be reported to:

info@lungocosta.it

21. Website availability

LungoCosta does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of the Website.

The Website or individual functions may temporarily be suspended, changed or become unavailable because of maintenance, updates, technical problems or other operational requirements.

22. Privacy and cookies

The processing of users’ personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

The use of cookies and other storage or tracking technologies is described in the Cookie Policy.

23. Limitation of liability

These Terms must be interpreted subject to the limits imposed by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

24. Governing law

These Terms and use of the Website are governed by Italian law, without prejudice to any mandatory rights available to users under applicable law.

25. Jurisdiction

Any question of jurisdiction or territorial competence relating to disputes concerning use of the Website will be determined in accordance with the mandatory provisions of applicable law.

26. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, ineffective or unenforceable, this will not, to the extent permitted by law, affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions.

27. Changes to these Terms
